WHAT TYPE OF CRUDE DO YOU HAVE?
MAYA
MAYA is a heavy (21-22 °API gravity) and sour (3.4% sulfur content by weight) crude oil, which produces lower yields of gasoline and diesel in simple refineries when compared to lighter crudes. In order to maximize the economic value of this type of crude oil, its processing requires refineries with high conversion units which transform the crude heavy fractions (residue) into products with a highervalue.
ISTHMUS
ISTHMUS is a medium (32-33 °API gravity) and sour (1.8% sulfur content by weight) crude oil, with good gasoline and intermediate distillates (diesel and jet fuel/kerosene) yields. The highest economic value of this crude is obtained in refineries with FCC (Fluid Catalytic Cracker) units. Its quality is similar to Arab light crude and Russian Urals crude.
OLMECA
OLMECA is the lightest of the Mexican crude oils (38-39 °API gravity) and sour (0.73%
- 0.95% sulfur content by weight). Its characteristics make it a good feedstock for lubricants and petrochemicals.
ALTAMIRA
ALTAMIRA is a heavy (15.5-16.5 °API gravity) and sour (5.5% - 6.0% sulfur content by weight) crude oil. As with Maya crude, Altamira has lower gasoline and diesel yields in simple refining schemes compared to lighter crude oils. Its physical properties make it appropriate for asphalt production.

No. Since the buyer will be dealing directly with Pemex, there is no room for upselling. Buyer and seller will know exactly what the price is. However, you can ask for higher commissions from the buyer
PEMEX does not pay any commissions; BUYER pays minimum USD $1.5 (one dollar-and 0.50-cents United States Dollar) per barrel 50% Seller Side (Close); 50% buy-side open (Kiuso Corporation on seller side); Paymaster issues IMFPA to BUYER as per Agreement
Yes, you can increase commission. Since the Buyer is paying the commission directly, as long as they agree to a higher commission, we will be happy to accept it.
- Procedures are NOT negotiable. Pemex sets the rules, and they are non-negotiable. Follow procedures for a seamless transaction to secure your supply.
A soft and comfortable POF is a required with ICPO (Screens, BCL, or other.) Pemex will engage with ICPO only after verifying the POF. Alternatively, Buyer is welcome to issue an MT199 POF after submitting ICPO. Pemex bank detailed will be issued for the MT199 to go directly to Pemex
- Payment Terms: Final payment is processed AFTER loading against POP documents. Your funds/SWIFTs flow directly through verifiable Pemex Bank Account(s).
With an MT103 CONDITIONAL, no money is exchanged. Its a simple promise that buyer has funds ready to conclude the transaction. This is done bank to bank and the actual money moved after product is loaded into buyer's vessel and loading docs have been issued.
You can think of it like LC, but simpler; or you can think it as blocked funds, although the funds are not blocked, only confirmed to exist.

As you may know Pemex is state owned company that officially sells only to state own refineries. However, with each president, they make different propositions to make it possible for private client to obtain their product.
We have been working with Pemex for many years and adjusting with the changing structures. Currently they accept private orders for ICPO that comes only through the official concessional holder. So how you address the ICPO is very important.

Well, you can just call Pemex, but they wont sell crude to you. You can go to their website and register as their buyer, but the process to become an official buyer is at least 3 years, and not guaranteed. As a state own refinery, Pemex cannot sell crude to just anyone, not even if you show up with a bag of money. You have to go through preset channels that allows them to legally sell crude to you now... and that's why you need Kiuso corporation.
